Celebrating Turning 50 !

I decided that turning fifty should be a good thing and not view it as me just getting older. Part of wish list on my birthday this past January 7th was to take three vacations. My destinations were: Niagara Falls, Ontario - San Antonio, Texas - Las Vegas, Nevada. Well I visited all of those places plus was able to visit Mesa, Arizona to visit with my oldest daughter and grandchildren !
I am grateful to have a coworker who is of part Canadian decent, and frequently travels to the Falls. The driving directions she gave me were great. I followed them exactly and had no problems getting there. I rented a suite at the Embassy Suites that came with full jacuzzi, fireplace and king size bed. My view of the falls was at the horseshoe curve. I have never seen a natural wonder so spectacular ! At night when the falls is lit up and rolling it is amazing. The picture will forever stay in my mind.
San Antonio will forever be the home of my heart ! I was so blessed to have had dinner with Pastor and Minister Pearson. The church has grown and has a multi cultural congregation. The anointing was so strong the night I attended service, the message touched me to the core. Checkout their website: wofsa.com. I visited the Alamo again remembering what those brave people gave their lives for and why the spirit of the Alamo resides in every true Texan ! I also visited several historic sites to learn more of the city's history. The shopping was great, having a mixture of western and Mexican. The next time a visit a will definitely need a lot more money !
As many times as I have seen Vegas on TV, until I went there I could not believe my eyes ! My suite was larger than the apartment I live in ! I was amazed how busy the strip was at night and well into the wee hours of the morning ! I found a jewelry story the sells everything for twenty dollars or less. I purchased several freshwater pearl necklaces. I'm not much of a gambler, (smile) so I only played the penny machines, won a little lost alot (smile). I took a sight seeing tour which included a cactus garden, a chocolate factory and the Hoover Dam. The Dam is a architechtual and mechanical wonder ! All in all I said Vegas is a place I will definitely visit again.
I wanted desperately to see my daughter and grand children. Dayna has done well for herself and the children. I found Mesa to have an atmosphere that is very laid back. It is truly picture postcard beautiful. I would definitely be my second choice as far as a place to live !
Now that I am a single mature of fifty, I've decided to travel. I even bought a travel journal, and hope in the future I will how to post pictures on my blog. Remember Luke 1:37 !!!
